Founder
My name is Jerad, and I grew up in Illinois. On February 21, 2013, I chose to face my struggles with alcoholism and addiction — a decision that changed the course of my life and began my journey of recovery. Through the guidance of a twelve-step program, I experienced a profound spiritual awakening one that gave me purpose, peace, and a deep desire to help others.
Over the past decade, Ritual Living has been a part of over 300 men’s recovery stories. I have had the privilege of witnessing incredible transformations watching despair turn into hope, selfishness into service, and struggle into strength.
By keeping Ritual Living to just one home, I am able to personally connect with every resident, walking alongside them in their recovery journey. This is not just a sober living home it is a place where men discover who they truly are, build a foundation for lasting sobriety, and step into a life filled with purpose and possibility.

TESTIMONIALS

I am so grateful to Jerad & Ritual Living for helping me get my son back. When he moved in he was sober but not working a program and thanks to the structure of the program & Jerad guidance my son became part of the 12 step community once again. What a beautiful house to live in as he repaired his relationship with us and himself. The structure was exactly what my son needed to get his life back together. Just because my son has moved out does not mean the relationship is over. Jerad and his wife Candace along with their service dog are still available to my son 10 months later. It makes my heart so happy to hear my son say he went over to visit the guys at Ritual House.

I recHouse is laid back. Great spot to be if you're ready to get sober. I co-managed the house with another housemate at the time. We took things seriously, but had a great time. Jerad and his wife Candace are easy going and always willing to help where ever they can. Their dog Yoshi is a big dog but he's a real softie once you get to know him. I would recommend, and frequently do recommend people to stay at this house.

I liked the 12-step daily devotionals and and the community around the house. The neighborhood is beautiful and located in a good location. 🤙🏼
I stayed at Ritual Living for two years. Living here gave me the foundation and structure I needed to turn my life around. The house provides guidance to alcoholics and addicts, helping them achieve and maintain sobriety. Jerad is a stand up guy and has walked to path of recovery himself. He provides excellent leadership and accountability to men who are willing to take the steps towards a healthier, sober life.

My time at Ritual Living has been an incredibly healing experience. It isn't just a house - it is a wonderful home where I've made connections with excellent people who care and that will stand the test of time. They've helped me to find my inner strength and self worth again. Can't thank them enough.

Great location not far from the beach. Great group of guys and system. Highly recommend. Been sober a little over 3 and a half years now and still keep in touch with the owner Jerad
Jared has one of the biggest hearts of anyone I’ve ever met. This place is much different than most sober living in that Jared doesn’t treat us like a number and supports us through good and bad times
Great environment to grow in sobriety. Solid accountability with support.

I recently completed my stay at the Ritual Living House and I can't say enough positive things about my experience. This program truly helped me get sober and grow as a person. The structured environment, supportive community, and comprehensive resources provided were exactly what I needed on my journey to recovery.
Jared, who runs the house, is exceptional. He genuinely cares about each resident and goes above and beyond to ensure everyone feels supported and motivated. His dedication and personal approach made a significant difference in my recovery process.
The program offered a perfect balance of accountability and independence, allowing me to build the skills necessary for a successful and sober life. The sense of community among residents was incredibly encouraging, providing a network of support that I will cherish moving forward.
I highly recommend the Ritual Living House to anyone seeking a supportive and effective sober living environment. It has been a transformative experience for me, and I am grateful for the opportunity to have been part of such a fantastic program.

I lived at Ritual Living for the better part of a year in the infancy of my recovery. To this day I believe it was an integral part of my early sobriety, and helped has helped me stay sober til today.
The house requires you to work a diligent and intensive program while you live there, and it holds its residents to high standards, which honestly I initially hated. But hard work and willingness to be open to suggestions is the foundation to healthy recovery.
If you’re not planning on giving your all to recovery, this is not the sober living for you. But if you truly are sick and tired of being sick and tired, there's no better place to be.

The accommodations are clean and comfortable, and the sense of community among the residents is truly inspiring. I am grateful for the tools and resources provided to help me on my journey to sobriety. I highly recommend this sober living to anyone seeking a supportive and nurturing environment for their recovery journey.

If you are serious about sobriety and would like to learn how to live a life of recovery, ritual living would become a beautiful part of your journey. I was a resident of ritual living for 6 months. Jerad and his house managers always maintained a strict zero tolerance policy, which allows residents to thrive in there early stages of sobriety. After struggling for many years, ritual living gave me a foundation that would change my life… Accountability, honesty, FRIENDSHIP are just only a few things that Jared and my brothers at ritual living were able to help instill in my life !! The camaraderie amongst men at ritual living is something that will live in me for the rest of my life and I am forever grateful for this. Ritual living gave me the tools I needed to live a new life. TRUE sobriety began for me on may of 2019 when I stepped foot inside that beautiful home in Encinitas known as Ritual Living.
Thank You Jared and all of my ritual living family!! Ps: I miss those Sunday dinners !

I’m a recovering heroin/fentanyl addict, and I’ve been to several inpatient rehabs and wasn’t able to stay sober. Then my parents found Ritual Sober Living and I decided to give it a shot. The structure and support at Ritual ended up being just what I needed, and I’ve been clean and sober for over 3 and a half years now. Jerad, who runs the sober living, is a great guy and has become a good friend of mine. Whenever I have a friend or loved one who is struggling with addiction and/or alcoholism, Ritual is my number suggestion for treatment after detox, if necessary. To anyone reading this and considering Ritual as an option, I encourage you to at least reach out to Jerad and talk to him. He has a big heart and really cares about the guys at the house. Best of luck on your recovery journey!

I am so beyond grateful for Ritual Living. From day one Jerad and Candace welcomed me into their family. Through the six months that I was there I was taught how to be accountable for myself and how to have pride in myself. i learned the satisfaction of developing routines and sticking to them. I learned to like cooking and cleaning. It has been eight months since I moved out and I am still in contact with Jerad and Candace today. They have become my second family. Ritual Living became my home away from home.

I stayed at Ritual Living for about a year. It was an amazing step to take. Jerad was there regularly to make sure everything was running smoothly while a member of the house that had been in good standing for a long period of time would help keep everything in check.
There was a solid structure in place with regards rules and expectations, so you were never surprised with a random rule or regulation being put into place. It lent itself to helping members of the house build a solid foundation to take their next step from.
The house itself was very clean and with Jerad vetting the people prior to them moving in, the members of the house were also solid. I would recommend this home whole-heartedly to anyone considering a stay at Ritual Living.

As a sober living owner in coastal San Diego, I totally support Ritual Sober Living, and respect the way Jerad runs it. I can attest to the fact that Jared has his residents' best interests' in mind, and when we're full, I always refer to Ritual.

Jerad helped me save my life 7 years ago. He took me in when I was in deep despair. I was welcomed into a caring and supportive environment designed to assist on the road to recovery. Jerad is truly empathetic, if you want to help yourself, displaying a level of understanding that can only come from a genuine desire to help those in need.
It’s not a walk in the park. It takes work, and learning to be comfortable being uncomfortable.
The residence itself is great, a comforting haven that is a true home. Each room was clean, modern, and furnished to promote an atmosphere of tranquility and healing. Beyond the physical environment, the program was the standout feature. It was comprehensive, tailored to address each individual’s unique needs. Combining therapy, life skills training, and PEER GROUP SUPPORT, it offered a holistic approach to recovery that I found invaluable.
Particularly noteworthy was the emphasis on the development of a healthy lifestyle. From balanced meal plans to regular physical activities, everything was thoughtfully designed to reinforce the physical wellness aspect of recovery. There was also a strong focus on building meaningful connections, fostering a sense of community, and mutual support that became the cornerstone of my experience.
In a journey filled with numerous obstacles, the men's sober living home was a guiding light. It's not just a facility, it's a community that encourages growth, resilience, and ultimately, the courage to step into a new, sober life. Whether you're in the initial stages of recovery or further along, this place provides the structure, resources, and support network necessary to stay on track.
Without hesitation, I wholeheartedly endorse this men's sober living home. It's much more than a place to stay; it's a place where you can truly start to rebuild your life. I’m still great friends with Jerad years after leaving. Love you man.

My recovery started at ritual living in 2017. This establishment led by Jared is the true foundation of what AA is about. In this household you will find unity, recovery, and what it means to be of service to others. You will also be able to find the ability to connect with others, to be held accountable for your own recovery and still be able to have fun and grow as you transition from a life of chemical dependency to sobriety. I couldn't be more grateful for the opportunity that I had to stay at Ritual Living, it was the start of my beautiful journey of recovery in my life today.
